A spiritually uplifting, hilarious, powerful and timely new gospel comedy stage play, Ain't Always Been Saved, is coming to the city. In Ain't Always Been Saved, we follow the story of Vicki Lorraine Morgans, a former pop star who had the career, the marriage(s), fame and money.
Life seemed perfect, until her addiction to drugs and alcohol caused all that to come crumbling down and baby when it rains, it seems to pour. With addiction comes money issues, family and friends, people in your business and everyone telling you what you to do to be better. Vicki is mad and not just at the world, God too. After all it was him who made her like this. Vicki May be on the road to recovery now but try her if you want cause she's quick to tell you, "I ain't always been saved".
Harold JAY Trotter is not only the Creative Director of 1989 Dreams Production but a playwright, teacher and well accomplished actor. Having had the opportunity to perform on stages in New York City, Los Angeles, Austria, Germany, Prague, The Czech Republic and more he is excited to bring this original musical comedy to stages throughout the country. Having previously produced the Summer 2016 hit stage play, No Justice, No Peace. Harold continues to entertain audiences by challenging their minds, tugging at their hearts and tickling their laughing bone. Having studied music at Grambling State University and a former minister of music in the Christian church for numerous years, Harold brings his religious upbringing, musical roots and school of life theology to the stage.
The cast of Ain't Always Been Saved is based out of Houston, TX and includes a dynamic and eclectic group of artists. Host of Chi-Talk TV, Chilonda Clebourn, actress NaToya Danielle, Glenn-Anthony Whorton, Terrie Donald, Shay Bernard, Isiah Zellie Bass, Taalina Sahib, Jared La'Pread and Gerald Brown.
