From sassy telephone operator Ernestine to devilish six-year-old Edith Ann, Lily Tomlin's characters have produced side-splitting entertainment for legions of adoring fans. Ms. Tomlin brings all those characters to life and more to The Grand on Saturday, May 9, 8pm. Tickets may be purchased at The Grand's Box Office, 2020 Postoffice Street, by calling 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or online at www.thegrand.com.

A comedic star of stage, screen, and television, Lily Tomlin has received numerous awards, including: six Emmys; two Tonys; an Outer Critics' Circle Award; a Grammy; two Peabody Awards; and the list goes on and on. In 2003, she was the recipient of the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor and in 2015, the Kennedy Center Honors. Her work on television in Laugh-In raised her to national promince as a comedic actor, but she became in demand equally for her dramatic work in television and film.

Although Tomlin claims she wasn't funny as a child, she admits she "knew who was and lifted all their material right off the TV screen". After high school, she enrolled at Wayne State University to study medicine, but her elective courses in theatre arts compelled her to leave college to become a performer in local coffee houses. And as they say, "the rest is history." Come prepared for an evening of giggles with this "Laugh-In" favorite! "And that's the truth!"
