Nineteenth-century London comes to life when Tiny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and, of course, Ebenezer Scrooge take you on a fantastical journey through Christmas Past, Present, and Future. Scrooge's story of redemption remains as powerful and uplifting as ever. Adapted for the stage by Joseph Hanreddy and Edward Morgan, A CHRISTMAS CAROL runs November 28 - December 21 at Houston Family Arts Center.
Houston Family Arts Center puts the "Family" into Charles Dickens' classic A CHRISTMAS CAROL. Three sets of family will be performing in this holiday staple. Stephanie Wisdom will be portraying Mrs. Cratchit alongside her daughters, Jenna Townsend (Clara) and Clairey Townsend whom will be playing her stage son, Tiny Tim. Mr. Cratchit, also known as Carl Brown, gets to share the stage with his daughter, Starlee Brown (Fan). The O'Brien siblings will make an appearance with Kallie as Mary Cratchit and Peyton as Rememberance. And don't worry, Mrs. O'Brien will be keeping an eye on her offspring as the Properties Manager, backstage.
A CHRISTMAS CAROL director Julie Akers has this to say about her unique vision for the production; "I want the audience to believe man can change, not just that is happens because it's the holiday. Too many other productions rely on the fringes and beauty of the story to entertain us and not the actor to make us believe change can happen and how it does happen." Charles Dickens' classic tale opens Friday, November 28 and runs through Sunday, December 21. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 3 PM on the HFAC Garza Mainstage.
