West Kowloon Cultural District Authority (WKCDA) is thrilled to announce the launch of Asia Network for Dance (AND+) that will take place on 18 May 2018 (Friday) during the Producers' Network Meeting and Forum 2018 in Hong Kong.
AND+ is a network initiated by WKCDA, combining the four elements - Asia, Network, Dance and Connection. The network is dedicated to connecting, developing and empowering contemporary practice in dance within Asia, providing a comprehensive platform for knowledge exchange and information sharing, deepening connection within the region and promoting the status of dance in Asia. WKCDA is also committed to bringing together top dance artists from Asia and around the world through AND+, providing a good environment for cultural exchange and creation, preparing for the dedication of the first Dancehouse in the Lyric Theatre Complex in 2023 so as to become a leading dance hub in Asia.
AND+ will be steered by a core group which is a collective of professionals in dance from different regions and organisations. There are currently 14 members in the core group, including Ms Kathy Hong, Director of Marketing and Communications, National Performing Arts Centre - National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts (Weiwuying), Taiwan; Mr Shinji Ono, Chief Producer of Yokohama Arts Foundation and Director of Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Number 1, Japan; Ms Jala Adolphus, Independent Producer, Indonesia; and Ms Faith Tan, Head of Dance and Theatre (Programming), Esplanade, Singapore, amongst others.
