Professional Artists of the Pacific, LLC, is pleased to announce their fall production of CABARET. Opening on Broadway in 1966, the show was an instant hit and spawned an acclaimed 1972 film. Set in Berlin, Germany, 1931, on the eve of the Nazi rise to power, it focuses on nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and revolves around the cabaret performer Sally Bowles; her relationship with a young writer; and the romance between boarding house owner Fräulein Schneider and her suitor, a Jewish fruit vendor. Overseeing the action is the Master of Ceremonies at the Kit Kat Klub who serves as a constant metaphor for the current state of society in Berlin. The show features a classic score including Cabaret, Mein Herr, Maybe This Time, Money, Money and Wilkkommen. The Steppingstone Playhouse will be transformed into the Kit Kat Klub, 1931, complete with a live band and front row table seating and waiter service. "What good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the music play!"
CABARET is suggested for mature audiences. Parental discretion advised.
