ProArts is proud to present the second show of its Spring season, "The Nerd", written by Larry Shue. One of the funniest plays ever written, this extraordinarily inventive, side-splitting comedy was first presented by the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, then in London, and then on Broadway. The action centers on the hilarious dilemma of a young architect who is visited by a man he's never met but who saved his life in Vietnam-the visitor turning out to be an incredibly inept, hopelessly stupid "nerd" who outstays his welcome with a vengeance.

The show opens at the ProArts Playhouse in Kihei on Friday, April 15 and plays three weekends (10 performances) through May 1, 2016. Performances are Thursday through Saturdays at 7:30 pm with Sunday matinees at 3:00 pm. There will be no performance on Sunday, April 17.

Directed by Sally Sefton, the show feature a stellar roster of Maui talent including Dylan Bode, Chris Rose, Laura Cole, Kyle Lane, Marsi Smith, Anthony Rummel, and Caleb Chargualaf.

Tickets are $25.00 for reserved seats, and $22.00 on special Kama'aina nights, April 21 and 28 (Discounts given to Hawaii residents on those two nights).

The ProArts Playhouse is located at the Azeka (Makai) Shopping Center, 1280 S. Kihei Rd. in Kihei. It is air conditioned with 82 reserved seats, free parking, plenty of nearby restaurants, and an art gallery inside, featuring works by local artist Caro Walker.

This production is suitable for all audiences.
