From the creative team that brought you "Urinetown" and "Cabaret", "The Fantasticks" is brought to life in Kihei by Maui's best performers: Robert Wills as El Gallo, the Narrator, LeighAnna Locke as The Girl, Tom Althouse as The Boy, Dale Button as The Girl's Father, Jonathan Lehman as The Boy's Father, John Peterson as The Old Actor, Kalani Whitford as The Man Who Dies, and James Natividad as The Mute.

Synopsis:
A wonderful parable of love, "The Fantasticks" with book and lyrics by Tom Jones and music by Harvey Schmidt, tells the story of a young man and the girl next door, whose feuding parents have built a wall to keep them apart. The youngsters nevertheless contrive to meet and fall in love. Their parents congratulate themselves, for they have staged the feud in order to achieve, by negation, a marriage between their disobedient children. A narrator sets the imagined scene and, in  the role of professional abductor, pretends to fall before the onslaught of the young man, letting the boy think he is a hero. The night is full of moonlight and romance. The sun comes up and the day brings an end to dreams. The lovers must now face reality. The dashing vagabond, who was their guide to romance and illusion, becomes their instructor in disillusionment. It is only when he has shown the boy the harshness of the world, and has let the girl see that love can be false, that they come to understand each other. "The Fantasticks" features such great tunes as "Try to Remember", "Soon It's Gonna Rain", "I Can See It, " and "They Were You."

All ages will enjoy this wonderful parable of love which runs 2 hours and 15 minutes, including intermission.
