On Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Hilton Waikoloa Grand Ballroom, a benefit for the Kahilu Theatre's artistic and educational programs will be held. The celebration will start at 6:00 pm with cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner starts at 7:00 pm and will be followed by Michael Feinstein's performance and at 9:00 pm a DJ spun dance until midnight. "Attire is Gatsby Glam and guests are invited to be creative with their costumes," Sibbett announced.

Dr. John Stover, co-chair of the event commented, "Mr. Feinstein has played all over the world, from Carnegie Hall to the White House and Buckingham Palace. We are honored he is coming to support the Kahilu Theatre."

Feinstein is renowned for his commitment celebrating America's popular song and preserving its legacy for the next generation. He serves on the Library of Congress' National Recording Preservation Board, an organization dedicated to ensuring the survival, conservation and increased public availability of America's sound recording heritage.

"How appropriate that he will be here to launch the Inaugural Masquerade," Sibbett said. "The Kahilu Theatre is a not-for-profit community arts and education center dedicated to serving our diverse Hawai'i Island community and Michael Feinstein has dedicated his career to preserving the arts. We couldn't be happier! He's also an elegant and fun fit especially given so many of his pieces are from the Great Gatsby era."

Tickets can be purchased on line at www.kahilutheatre.org. Individual tickets are $150 for Kahilu members/$185 for non-members. Sponsored tables can be purchased for $3,000, $5,000 and $10,000. Dancing party tickets only are $50. Attire is Gatsby Glam for a gilded artistic reboot.

Through Feinstein's live performances, recordings, film and television appearances, and his songwriting, he is an all-star force in American Music.

Dr. Stover said, "Performing Arts are an essential part of our community. The Kahilu Theatre has recently been revitalized and we have planned a dynamic season of fantastic entertainment. The Inaugural Kahilu Theatre Masquerade Ball on December 6th will be the perfect event to kick off the starriest holiday celebrations and usher in the 2014 Season!"
