Join the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra (HSO) for a rockin' fall concert as the orchestra partners with Windorne Music's tribute - The Music of Queen. Bridging the gap between classical music and rock, conductor Brent Havens will bring audiences to their feet at this extraordinary concert. Brody Dolyniuk's vocals capture the spirit of the music and of Freddie Mercury's one-of-a-kind delivery. It is obvious that Brody has done his homework and approaches the vocals with respect and skill.

This concert will be held at the Blaisdell Concert Hall on Friday, September 16 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $89, $74, $59, $44, and $29. The music will be familiar to audiences, but the arrangements and color provided by the marriage of a full orchestra and a rock band will be entirely new. The color and richness of the sound is something that is brought about by the respectful treatment of Queen and Freddie Mercury's music and the layered sound that only a symphony can provide. Combine the sound with the full spectacle of rock lights and staging - it will be a magical night!

"We will ROCK YOU!" HSO Executive Director Jonathan Parrish said, adding that the HSO is continuing to expand its audience to include fans of Classic Rock. "Music is so universal, and so widely enjoyed, it just makes sense for us to bring our considerable forces and talent to bear on as many genres as possible. We're very excited to be kicking off the musicthatROCKS series with the music of such a great band with so many great hits."

Brody Dolyniuk, the lead vocalist in the group, is a seasoned performer who developed his chops on stage in Las Vegas. Along the way, Brody has made numerous radio and TV appearances, and earned a spot in the finals of two national singing competitions, and even self-produced several large rock production-style shows utilizing multimedia, lasers, comedy and special effects. In 2007, Brody lent his vocal talents by singing several tracks on the mega-hit video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock, and has already done several more for the new Konami game Rock Revolution. Brody joined Windborne Music in 2009 as vocalist for the Music of Queen show.

Brent Havens is a Berklee-trained arranger/conductor who has written music for orchestras, feature films and virtually every kind of television. His TV work includes movies for networks such as ABC, CBS and ABC Family Channel Network, commercials, sports music for networks such as ESPN and even cartoons. Havens has also worked with the Doobie Brothers and the Milwaukee Symphony, arranging and conducting The Combined group for Harley Davidson's 100th Anniversary Birthday Party Finale attended by over 150,000 fans. He has worked with some of the world's greatest orchestras including the Royal Philharmonic in London, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Houston Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony, the Baltimore Symphony, the Dallas Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, the Nashville Symphony, the Buffalo Philharmonic and countless others.

Tickets: Tickets range from $29 to $89 and are available at the Hawai'i Symphony Orchestra Box Office or through the Blaisdell box office.

Student & Military Discounts: $13 student rush tickets and $20 active-duty military tickets are available beginning Monday, September 12, with a valid ID (must purchase in person).

Sponsors: Hotel accommodations are provided by the Halekulani and Waikiki Parc Hotels. Oceanic Time Warner Cable and 107.9 KOOL Gold are media sponsors of this event.
