Halekulani Announces Partnership with Dramatists Guild Fund, Opening Performances by Andrew Lippa

Halekulani, Oahu's most acclaimed luxury hotel just steps away from Waikiki Beach, is pleased to announce its partnership with New York's renowned Dramatists Guild Fund. This partnership will encompass a series of musical performances at the hotel's fabled Lewers Lounge and will commence with two special performances by Mr. Andrew Lippa, acclaimed award-winning Broadway composer,performer, and President of the Dramatists' Guild, on March 10 and 11.

Through this unique partnership, we will further enhance our star-studded programming by bringing the magic of Broadway and the American songbook to Halekulani," said Peter Shaindlin, Chief Operating Officer of Halekulani Corporation. "The launch of this partnership is a demonstration of Halekulani's continued support and profound appreciation of the musical and performing arts."

The Dramatists Guild Fund will bring Broadway star power to Halekulani on Friday, March 10 and Saturday, March 11 with a riveting performance by Andrew Lippa, whose recent work includes the hit song "Evil Like Me," written for Kristin Chenoweth for Disney's film "Descendants," as well as a world premiere piece composed and conducted for the international piano virtuoso Lang Lang and the Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra in China. Beginning at 8:30 p.m, Lippa will perform two 40-minute sets each night, separated by a short intermission. This performance is open to the public; tickets are not required.

Halekulani's Lewers Lounge has established itself as one of the world's premier venues of acoustic jazz, supported by a Café Society-inspired cocktail program, fine casual cuisine and Halekulani service. The room has been host to such musical superstars over the years as Tony Bennett, The Count Basie Quintet, Diane Krall, Eddie Henderson, Jimmy Borges, Monica Mancini and other countless legends of jazz. It is unrivaled in its bespoke ambiance and intimate, plush trappings and highly attentive service pedigree. The performances by Andrew Lippa on March 10 and 11 are a unique addition to the regularly scheduled entertainment at Lewers featuring Maggie Herron and Dean Taba. Lewers Lounge is open nightly from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with live entertainment starting at 8:30 p.m.
