Diamond Head Theatre is pleased to announce its next show, opening on Friday, March 23rd. A hilarious screwball comedy, NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, is an homage to a host of Jazz Age musicals, which were filled with songs, dances, and outlandish gags---in this musical, it's all set to the superb score ("S'Wonderful", "Fascinating Rhythm", "But Not for Me") of George and Ira Gershwin!
Set in the 1920s, the show is the story of charming and wealthy playboy Jimmy Winter, who meets rough female bootlegger Billie Bendix the weekend of his wedding. Billie and her gang decide to hide cases of alcohol in Jimmy's Long Island mansion. That leads to trouble with his wife-to-be and her prohibitionist family who have shown up for the wedding.
The show stars Drew Niles as Jimmy Winter with Ahnya Chang as the irrepressible Billie Bendix. Joining them on stage are Stacey Pulmano as Estonia Dulworth, The Duchess of Woodford; Matthew Pedersen as Cookie McGee; Lea Woods Almanza as Eileen Evergreen; Fedrico Biven as Senator Max Evergreen; Jody Bill as Jeannie Muldoon; Jesie Rocetes as Chief Berry; Kyle Mcnamara as Duke Mahoney and Lisa Konove as Millicent Winter, the mother of Jimmy.
Leading this talented cast is Director Malindi Fickle, Musical Director Ike Webster, and Choreographers Caryn Yee and Lisa Kimsey.
Shows are Thursdays - Sundays (expect for opening week). Evening shows start at 7:30PM Thursday - Saturdays. Sunday shows are at 4:00PM and Saturday matinees are at 3:00PM. Show runs from March 23- April 15, 2018.
