The 9th Annual Hallowbaloo Music & Arts Festival returns for another year of Halloween cheer on Saturday, October 29th. Always on the top of everyone's list of to-do's for the weekend, the festival presents its biggest lineup ever, headlined by DJ Low Down Loretta Brown aka Erykah Badu. The Hallowbaloo Street Festival returns to the Hawaii State Art Museum and surrounding neighborhood, while Club Hallowbaloo expands to include both Chinatown and Aloha Tower Marketplace venues with complimentary trolley service connecting each area. Tickets go on-sale this Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at hallowbaloo.eventbrite.com.

Each year, close to 10,000 costumed revelers attend this multi-stage Halloween and music extravaganza. Festivities begin at4:30pm with the Hallowbaloo Street Festival and Hallowbaloo Ball located at the Hawaii State Art Museum (HiSAM) and surrounding streets (Richards St. and Hotel St.). With iconic landmarks, manicuRed Lawns and expansive tree canopies, the area has the look and feel of a state park and serves as the perfect oasis for sharing Halloween aloha and enjoying rambunctious rhythms. Hallowbaloo Ball attendees are treated to complimentary pupus and fine elixirs (2 per person), as well as access to a deck with premium views of Hallowbaloo's main stage, HiSAM's interior (lounge, wash rooms, 2nd floor balcony and gallery space) and VIP entry to the street festival and Club Hallowbaloo venues. Between 8:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., complimentary trolley service connects attendees to Club Hallowbaloo venues located in both Chinatown and Aloha Tower Marketplace with ten establishments serving up bodacious beats until 2:00 a.m.: Square Barrels, Scarlet Honolulu, The Arts at Marks Garage, Manifest, Downbeat Lounge, NextDoor, Bar 35, Hooters, Nashville Waikiki, and Gordon Biersch.

Hallowbaloo continues to serve up a special Halloween experience to locals and visitors of all ages with a wide range of tastes. Over 50% of 2015 street festival attendees were 35 years old or older based on an onsite survey, and people in 50 different states and provinces purchased tickets to Hallowbaloo 2015. For families and more mellow revelers, an early jaunt through the street festival including dinner at one of its delectable pop-ups (Square Barrels, Hawaiian Fresh Farms, Istanbul Restaurant, Olay's Thai Express and more) will be hard to beat. And of course, for the many who view Hallowbaloo as the ultimate euphoric release, Club Hallowbaloo 2016 gets you access to multiple venues and a wide array of entertainment until 2:00 a.m. with the purchase of one festival wristband. Club Hallowbaloo sold out last year, so advance purchase is recommended.

One enthusiastic attendee described the 2015 street festival by saying, "For those who didn't make it to the "new" Hallowbaloo - if you're curious - this year's set-up was great! With multiple stages, all kinds of food and an attractive site surrounding the State Art Museum, it's a playground for grownups with great people-watching and entertainment. I'm still recovering from all the dancing I did. Bravo Mark Tarone - hope you're in that location again next year! . . . A most enjoyable experience in Honolulu, and as promised, great use of an attractive, historic district."
