The much-anticipated new co-production of the National Opera with the Opéra La Monnaie of Brussels is The Tales of Hoffmann under the intelligent direction of the leading European director of opera and theater Krzysztof Warlikowski, who undertakes to reveal the essence of a work where place and time are the remains of a damaged mosaic. 

After a series of sold-out performances, the great success of the Alternative Stage of the National Opera Theater Cheap Cigarettes , a 'romantic operetta' in 34 scenes and 19 songs, comes to captivate the audience from December 4, 2022 and for 24 new performances until and January 5, 2023.

Pascal Productions has announced the launch of a Greek-language production of SAPPHO, written by Wendy Beckett and translated into Greek by Daphne Economou. The international theatrical production dedicated to the Greek lyric poet of Lesbos is a world premiere and will be presented for 4 performances: August 11 in Hydra,  August 22 in Andros, August 27 in Delphi, and September 13 in Rhodes.

The Greek National Opera Ballet travels to Italy to present the GNO Alternative Stage’s successful production Human Behaviour, a contemporary dance triptych choreographed by Ioannis Mandafounis, Konstantinos Rigos and Ermira Goro, in the Chiostro grande of the Chiostri di San Pietro, the big courtyard of the emblematic monastery of Saint Peter in Reggio Emilia, Italy, on 12 July 2022. 

NYC-based 29th Street Playwrights Collective has joined in a transatlantic partnership with director Gia Forakis and producer Theodora Loukas to present a staged reading of a new play, LOVE TRIANGLE: A TRILOGY by New York playwright Catherine Rogers in Athens, Greece.

Inland, commissioned by the GNO with a libretto by Yannis Asteris, tackles the issue of loneliness faced by older adults. GNO Chief Conductor Elias Voudouris leads the performances which are directed by acclaimed Greek theatre director Nikos Karathanos.

Phase two of An Ideal City, to be presented on 17 June 2022 at the Agricultural University of Athens, places particular emphasis on the project’s educational aspects, and on the potential for works of art to be performed transpositionally across time and space.

A Greek musical portrait of Federico García Lorca through outstanding works for voice and piano will be presented by mezzo-soprano Artemis Bogri and pianist Giorgos Konstantinou on the Greek National Opera Alternative Stage at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC), on Friday 10 June 2022, at 20.30.
