"Wake up and dream" - the title of a Cole Porter musicals is also the name of the new scenic "Songbooks" to which Cordula Däuper and Johannes Müller have written the libretto for the National Theater in Mannheim. Often paradoxical, always expressed witty and brilliant are the lyrics to Cole Porter, his music invites you to dream and dance. He wrote 40 stage shows - works such as Kiss Me Kate, Anything Goes, High Society, Can-Can or Silk Stockings are celebrated around the world today. By interpretations of stars like Frank Sinatra, Louis Armstrong and Ella Fitzgerald many of his songs have become evergreens.
