Genoveva at Nationaltheater Mannheim

Pfalzgraf Siegfried goes to war against the enemies of his faith. With the words "You're a German woman, so do not complain," he leaves his young wife Genoveva in the care of Golos. Not only us like this farewell seem strange. Even Golo is irritated. Whether the love is? He at least loves Genoveva, and to madness.

Robert Schumann is known today primarily as a master of Lie and piano music. Throughout his life, however, he fought for the great form, particularly the opera became his "morgend- and evening prayer artist".
