What Might Have Been is an abstraction
Remaining a perpetual Possibility
Only in a world of speculation.
What Might Have Been and What Has finished
Point to one end, Which is AlwaysPresent.
TS Eliot
What might have been is an abstract concept
And will consist as constant possibility
As the world's speculative thinking.
What might have been and what really was
Have an always current end.
Kevin O'Day understands it like no other, pulling movements of the course of things, to put events together and everything to merge. Pieces such as the Goldberg Variations, chamber piece or one hour ten are playful meditations on the beginning, end, time and space. In his most recent choreography for the National Theatre dedicated to the Mannheimer ballet director with the New York composer John King his favorite topic time and space: Two words that appear simple yet challenging. For how to fill them? The large stage area and the short time frame? What options are there and what can we? Does the end always be the end?
You can not step twice into the same river, the philosopher Heraclitus supposedly said. And if they do? Where do we start where we listen to? In the first step, or somewhere in the middle? The last rebellion or where everything starts all over again?
