ROCKY DAS MUSICAL Named Winner of 2013 Live Entertainment Award

Most relevant German live entertainment industry award for latest Stage Entertainment own creative development - Acclaimed Rocky live show act at Gala Award Ceremony in Frankfurt Festhalle for 1,300 invited guests

Rocky - Das Musical took the winner crown as "best longrun production" at the 2013 German Live Entertainment Awards (LEA) gala ceremony at Frankfurt Festhalle last night. The musical, created and produced by Stage Entertainment, outpaced strong competitors like the acclaimed new production of West Side Story or the Cirque du Soleil show Cortéo. This is the third LEA for a Stage Entertainment own creative development and the fourth for Stage altogether, following Disney´s The Lion King, Ich war noch niemals in New York, and Sister Act.

Staff and management at Stage Entertainment Germany were very happy and proud to hear the news. „At first a lot of people had thought we were crazy to turn a boxer into a musical hero. But together with our co-producer Sylvester Stallone we strongly believed in the epic and the musicality of this story. I am very proud that the LEA jury acknowledged the artistic beauty of our show and awarded us as best longrun production of the year" says Johannes Mock-O'Hara, Managing Director Stage Entertainment Germany. The striking creative ideas which turn Rocky into a unique musical stage production were widely recognized in November 2012, when the show celebrated its world premiere to national and international critics´ acclaim. "We have never before received such positive reviews for a musical production, with distinct recognitions e.g. in the UK, Austria, and even the New York Times", Mock-O'Hara continues. The musical enjoys sold-out seats and enthused audiences at Operettenhaus Theatre in Hamburg every day ever since.
