Spinning Into Butter is a provocative play that examines the issue of racism and political correctness in America and more specifically, in academia. When one of the few African American students at Belmont College begins receiving racist hate mail, students and administration alike attempt to voraciously prove their tolerance while at the same time condemning one another. At the center of it all is Sarah Daniels, the new dean of students. As she attempts to diffuse the situation, Sarah is forced to explore her own feelings on racism, which leads to some surprising discoveries
