Broadway stars Stephen Buntrock and Morgan James are joined by local favorite Mark Sanders in a tribute to the music of Andrew Lloyd Webber and Rodgers & Hammerstein.
Stephen Buntrock has had a successful career on Broadway and off. His latest role was in the critically acclaimed revival of A Little Night Music, starring as Fredrick Egerman opposite Bernadette Peters. Earlier in the run he was honored to play the same role opposite the show’s original leading ladies Catherine Zeta Jones and Angela Lansbury. Other starring Broadway credits include Curly in Oklahoma!, Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, St. John in the original cast of Jane Eyre, Barrett in Titanic, Enjolras in the tenth anniversary cast of Les Miserables, the Phantom in The Phantom of the Opera, and creating the role of Teen Angel for the latest revival of Grease! He has toured extensively across the United States and Canada as Rueben in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (with Donny Osmond), and originated the role of Arnaud du Thil in Cameron Mackintosh’s production of Martin Guerre.
Stephen has enjoyed many concert appearances as well, most recently performing alongside Julie Andrews in London with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
Equally at home on the classical, concert, and rock stages, Epic recording artist Morgan James is one of the country’s most sought-after singers. As a solo artist, she has played to sold-out crowds at many popular New York City nightspots. Her Broadway credits include Motown: The Musical, last year’s Broadway revival of Godspell, and the original casts of Frank Wildhorn’s Wonderland and The Addams Family, in which she starred alongside Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth. A graduate of the prestigious Juilliard School, Morgan was a featured soloist in Bernstein’s MASS with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (conducted by Marin Alsop) at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and has appeared with the San Diego, National, Utah, Youngstown, and Modesto symphony orchestras. Her new CD, Live from Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola: A Celebration of Nina Simone, is available at iTunes, Amazon.com, and other retailers. Visit MorganJamesLive.com for more information.
