TheatreZone artistic director Mark Danni has cast two veteran TheatreZone male vocalists he believes can deliver on legendary Broadway composer Marvin Hamlisch's final score for Sweet Smell of Success, the not-for-profit Equity theatre group's Season 11 opening musical production. The 10-day run takes place January 7 through January 17, 2016.

The main characters are Equity actors Gerritt VanderMeer, (Whistle Down the Wind, Grand Hotel and Next to Normal) in the role of the self righteous and combative, genuinely intimidating period gossip-meister J.J. Hunsecker, and Daniel Schwab (Little Women, Grand Hotel, and 110 in the Shade) as his sycophantic protégé, the power-hungry flack Sidney Falco.

TheatreZone newcomer Lana Neuman and Tim Russell have been cast as the consistently and morally upstanding lovelorn ingenues, Susan -- Hunsecker's smothered and lingering sad sister and Dallas, the slandered jazz musician. Carolann Sanita (Tracey in High Society) performs as Rita, Falco's long suffering waitress-turned-girlfriend with a past.

The Ensemble cast, responsible for creating tension through song and dance, consists of Brent Kuenning, Dave Thome, Adolpho Blaire, Josh Kolb, Pierre Tannous, Megan Jimenez, Juliet Jewett, Kayley Stevens and Alana Ferraro.
