She's been a Rodgers and Hammerstein ingénue, an Oscar-winning actress, the coolest mom of the 1970s, and the author of a juicy tell-all book. She's Shirley Jones and she is appearing in Naples, in a one night only fundraising performance, "An Evening with Shirley Jones," on Sunday, November 9th at T-Michaels Steak & Lobster House in the Village on Venetian Bay.
Before her performance, VIP ticket holders may meet Ms. Jones at an exclusive reception in a nearby penthouse overlooking the Gulf of Mexico. Tax-deductible tickets cost $275 per person for the gala only, and $425 for the VIP ticket, which includes the pre-event reception, the gala itself, a wine bar, beer, and a special "Shirley" cocktail, and a variety of hot and cold hors d'oeuvres. Couples' discounts are also available. All proceeds benefit TheatreZone, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
Seating is limited to 150 guests. Contact gala co-chairperson, Karen Kayser Benson, at (239) 293-0354 for more information. A pre-show reception and silent auction begin with doors opening at 5:30 p.m., followed by Ms. Jones' show at 6:30 p.m. The evening's festivities include a silent auction featuring an array of Broadway and theatre related items, and a live auction highlighting a walk-on acting role in a TheatreZone Season 10 production.
About TheatreZone
In 2005, non-profit TheatreZone was born with the intent to bring live professional theatre to Southwest Florida in an intimate setting. Co-founders, Artistic Director Mark Danni, and his wife, actress/choreographer Karen Molnar, shared a vision and a passion to employ professional Equity actors and produce innovative productions of classic "lost treasures of Broadway."
Operating under the guidelines of the Actors' Equity Association (AEA), TheatreZone is in residence and performs in the charming 250-seat G&L Theatre, housed on the magnificent campus of The Community School of Naples, one block north of Pine Ridge Road, at 13275 Livingston Road.
