As a part of their Synergy Series, The Gulfshore Playhouse Book Club will continue in the 2014-2015 Season. The Book Club will focus on titles that relate to the themes being shown on the Gulfshore Playhouse stage throughout the season. From October 2014 to April 2015, he Gulfshore Playhouse will focus on 6 books, with one meeting to discuss each book. The genre of books will vary based on the play that is concurrently in production, and may include fiction, non-fiction, plays, and educational titles.
"We created our Synergy Series to give our audiences the opportunity to dig deeper into the themes our productions are exploring, and our Book Club is an exciting addition to our synergy programming! It is a joy to serve in this way, furthering understanding of the plays our patrons are seeing on our stage," states Kristen Coury, Founder and Producing Artistic Director of Gulfshore Playhouse.
The Gulfshore Playhouse Book Club will meet at the Norris Center, 755 8th Avenue S, Naples. Meeting times will be determined following a survey sent specifically to interested participants. For those interested in attending Gulfshore Playhouse's Book Club meetings, they can contact Maura Lohan, Marketing Coordinator at mlohan@gulfshoreplayhouse.org to be added to the email notification list. All official Book Club communications will happen via email.
Gulfshore Playhouse's Synergy Series was created to offer patrons an opportunity to engage with The Playhouse in a variety of stimulating ways beyond just seeing a play. In addition to the Book Club, the Synergy Series will include actor and director blogs, talk backs, partnerships with area organizations, panel discussions and interactive lobby displays. If a production has piqued the interest of a patron, the Synergy Series will create opportunities for patrons to deepen their understanding of the show and the themes surrounding it. Just as each production is different, each show's Synergy Series offerings will be different in nature.
