Florida Repertory Theatre has announced a final extension to the run of its popular musical revue, Too Marvelous for Words, which is now playing in the ArtStage Studio Theatre. Due to overwhelming demand for tickets, the musical salute to American songwriter Johnny Mercer will now run through Saturday, March 26th.

Too Marvelous for Words features an all-star cast of New York City musical theatre talent and over 40 of the most beloved songs of all time, including Moon River, That Old Black Magic, One For My Baby, Come Rain or Come Shine, and many more.

Conceived and directed by Florida Rep Founder and Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, Too Marvelous for Words takes audiences on a musical journey through the American songbook as a company of six performers sing, dance, and even play instruments as they bring the music of Johnny Mercer to vivid life.

"Johnny Mercer is one of the greatest and most prolific songwriters in American history, and Florida Rep is pleased to salute his life's work in this exciting and electrifying cabaret evening," said Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo. "Audiences and critics have been raving about this very special production, and we're happy to be able to extend the run so more theatergoers have a chance to catch this unique and exciting musical event."

Too Marvelous For Words features a first-rate line-up of multi-talented performers out of New York City, including Joe Bigelow (Florida Rep Debut), David Edwards (director, The Seafarer), Julie Kavanagh (Florida Rep Debut), James David Larson (Florida Rep Debut), Michael McAssey (Fascinatin' Gershwin), and Soara-Joye Ross (Florida Rep Debut). Michael McAssey is the production's musical director and will play piano for the majority of the show. In addition to McAssey, performers Bigelow and Larson, play a number of instruments to accompany themselves and the rest of the cast in this musical event. Bigelow is featured on the piano, sax, flute, and clarinet, and Larson spends most of the show behind an upright bass as well as the guitar, banjo, and even the mandolin.

Florida Rep Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo (The Unexpected Guest, Fascinatin' Gershwin) directs the production, and is joined by an expert team of designers including choreographer Arthur D'Alessio (Fascinatin' Gershwin), set designer Tim Billman, lighting designer, Todd O. Wren (A Christmas Story), costume designer, Dina Perez (Around The World in 80 Days), sound designer, John Kiselica (The Cocktail Hour), and production stage manager, Amy L. Massari (I Loved, I Lost, I Made Spaghetti).

Too Marvelous For Words: A Salute to Johnny Mercer runs through March 26 in the ArtStage Studio Theatre with very limited availability through the first week of March. Regular performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 8pm, with matinees on Thursday, Sunday, and select Saturdays.

Priced at $49/$45, single tickets are now on sale through the box office at 239-332-4488 and online at www.floridarep.org.
