Florida Repertory Theatre has announced that it will extend the run of its nationally acclaimed production of Arsenic and Old Lace through February 1st, adding three performances to its four-week run.
"We're delighted to start our 16th Season off on the right foot with another huge hit and another extension," said Producing Artistic Director, Robert Cacioppo, "our season opener, Social Security the biggest hit we've ever had, and Arsenic and Old Lace is on track to beat it. We're very fortunate that The Wall Street Journal's drama critic, Terry Teachout, is such a big fan of our work, and his review has really helped to spread the word, not only across Southwest Florida but across the nation, that Arsenic is a first-rate production being produced by a 'superlative' theatre company."
The play opened to an unprecedented four sold out preview performances in early January, and has enjoyed nearly two weeks of packed houses and rave reviews-locally as well as nationally. Tickets are going very fast for the zany comedy made famous by the 1944 Frank Capra film, and with the extended run, the best seats are available for the added performances: January 30, 31, and February 1 at 8pm.
