Florida Rep Education's production of A CHORUS LINE was truly fantastic. It was incredibly fun, emotional, mature, dazzling, and so much more. Every detail of the production came together to create one sensational show.
A CHORUS LINE is a very unique show because it is performed differently than most musicals. The audience is essentially watching an audition for a Broadway chorus line, and throughout the audition process within the show, you learn about each character and their life story. From "I Hope I Get It" to "One," you get to experience the journey of A CHORUS LINE along with the characters.
The entire cast of A CHORUS LINE was wonderful. From the ensemble, to the main characters who were competing for their spot in the chorus line, each member of the cast played their part perfectly. There were many moments that were lighthearted and funny, but also many that were deep, emotional, and reflective. Education Director Kody C. Jones always manages to bring a level of professionalism and maturity to Florida Rep's Education productions, and I was once again impressed with this aspect in A CHORUS LINE.
Some of the best moments in Florida Rep Education's A CHORUS LINE were when the entire company sang and danced together. Though each cast member was great on their own, the harmony and synchronization they had as a group was beautiful and powerful. It really was one singular sensation, and I promise you will not want to miss it.
