'Broadway au Carré' keeps bringing American musical theatre to Paris, with its second season premiering tonight, September 3rd.
Broadway au Carré takes place the first Wednesday evening of each month at Le Carré Parisien located at 1, rue du Général Beuret, 75015 Paris, France. Doors open at 7 pm, showtime at 7:30 pm followed by an Open Mic at 9 pm. 10€ / 8€ cover charge includes a drink. Reservations required at reservationscarreparisien@gmail.com. For precise schedule of the season and more info on the cycle, check out Broadway au Carré's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/broadwayaucarre
Every first Wednesday of the month, you can kick off your evening at Le Carré Parisien, a typical Parisian café and cave-à-vins, with a cabaret concert by a featured performer, followed by an open mic, where some of the best local artists gather to belt out their favorite Broadway show tunes. Broadway au Carré also features a new musical theatre composer each month, with a set of songs that have never been performed in Europe before.
After a sold-out first season, Broadway au Carré's second season premiere will take place on September 3rd, featuring some of the best performers in the French musical theatre milieu. This month the evening will start with an homage to Stephen Sondheim : ARE WE A PAIR? - EN COUPLE(S) AVEC SONDHEIM, the story of five friends who find themselves in an imbroglio of love relationships that go well... or not so well. Starring well-reknowned musical theatre actors Lauren Berkman, Dalia Constantin, Lisandro Nesis, Virginie Ramis and Emmanuel Suarez, with musical direction by Raphaël Sanchez (The Lion King, Avenue Q, Spamalot...) and a 'mise en scène' by Ned Grujic (Fame, Hair, Hairspray, Frankenstein Jr...), this concert is definitely one of the most expected cabarets of the beginning of the Parisian season. During the second part of the evening, an American musical theatre open mic will be co-hosted by Broadway au Carré's artistic director Lisandro Nesis and Eva Tesiorowski, and accompanied by Raphaël Sanchez.
Interested performers may submit a project for the concerts of Broadway au Carré or if they are a composer and would like to participate in the American Composers, European Premieres artistic exchange program, feel free to contact Broadway au Carré's artistic director at bookingcarreparisien@gmail.com.
