CIDE recently received a grant from the City of Carmel as part of the City’s 2024 Arts Grant Program.
Central Indiana Dance Ensemble is wrapping up their 24th season with new announcements and a fairy tale finish. CIDE recently received a grant from the City of Carmel as part of the City’s 2024 Arts Grant Program. This comes as CIDE prepares for their final performance this year – the magical story of Snow White - May 18 and 19 at the Tarkington Theatre at The Center for the Performing Arts.
The City of Carmel has a longstanding support system for the arts programs in the city. The Arts Grant Program was started in 2004 and has been continued in 2024 and Central Indiana Dance Ensemble was fortunate to be one of the 23 organizations to receive this financial support.
Carmel Mayor Sue Finkam was quoted to say, “Through strategic investment in our arts institutions and organizations, we foster economic vitality and elevate overall well-being. Without question, the artistic culture thriving in our city has profoundly enriched the lives of our residents, visitors and business community alike.”
CIDE will use the funds to continue to educate aspiring young dancers to learn and practice a variety of dance forms. CIDE provides an excellent atmosphere for young dancers that exposes them to cultural and educational enrichment as they practice and perform in this pre-professional atmosphere at The Tarkington Theatre, part of the world-class Center for the Performing Arts in Carmel, Indiana.
CIDE proudly pays this grant forward in the form of outreach programs that the members take to the community in order to give back.
They will also use the grant to perform excellent shows for the community, such as their upcoming Snow White. Coming up this weekend, May 18 and 19, plan to attend this captivating ballet at The Tarkington. A supremely wicked Queen, a band of benevolent dwarves, and one enchanted (and enticing!) apple – this performance has them all! The dancers retell the captivating tale of Snow White: the fairest of face and soul, who thwarts her Evil Stepmother’s schemes with kindness, devotion, friendship and true love to triumph over envy and malice.
Set to the music of Polish composer Bogdan Pavlovsky, CIDE’s dancers’ artistry and skill allow this beloved fairytale to shine with renewed vibrancy, kindling the imaginations of kids and adults alike.
