Franz Xaver Kroetz's "Riistapolku" will play at the Small Stage - Eläintarhantie 5 from Sept. 2 to Dec. 28, 2019.
"Riistapolku" is a familial tragedy involving two parents, Edwin and Hilda, and their only child, Hanni. a 13-year-old who is in love. Hanni's relationship with Franz, a 19-year-old, is frowned upon and shamed by her parents. Hilda and Edwin arrest Franz because of the relationship, but that doesn't stop the love Hanni and Franz have for each other.
The play looks at real life dilemmas between parents and children. How do you define love? Do you as a parent set rules on love? It examines the point in life when parents can start to lose control over their grown children, and how the grown children will continue to assert their independence regardless of the rules and restrictions that their parents set.
Lauri Maijala will direct the production and Vesa Tapio Valo will provide the translations. Nordic Drama Corner Oy holds "Riistapolku's" performance rights.
