About

The Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival is the longest-running Fringe festival in the United States, celebrating its 34th year from May 13-26, 2025. Established in 1992, Orlando Fringe is a 100% unjuried, uncensored, and inclusive performing arts festival that gives 100% of ticket sales directly to artists. The festival welcomes performers and creators across all genres and provides a platform for independent, experimental, and innovative work.

Each year, Orlando Fringe transforms downtown Orlando into a vibrant arts hub, offering live performances, visual art exhibitions, free outdoor concerts, and kid-friendly programming. With its lottery-based selection process, the festival ensures an equal opportunity for all artists, regardless of experience level.

Submission Requirements

Orlando Fringe applications are selected through a tiered lottery system, with slots allocated as follows:

• 50% for local artists (within a 2-hour drive of Orlando)
• 25% for national artists (from outside Central Florida but within the U.S.)
• 25% for international artists (from outside the U.S.)

Key application details:

• Applications open: September 1, 2024, at Noon EST
• Applications close: November 15, 2024, at 5 PM EST
• Application fee:
  • $25 (until October 31, 2024)
  • $50 (November 1-15, 2024)
• Maximum show runtime: 75 minutes
• Amplified Voices Lottery: 30% of festival slots are reserved for marginalized artists.

Artists must secure all rights and permissions for copyrighted materials. Failure to do so may result in removal from the festival.

Finances

Orlando Fringe is dedicated to ensuring financial sustainability for artists.

• 100% of ticket sales go to artists.
• Application fee: $25–$50 (non-refundable)
• Venue participation fees: Based on seating capacity, performance length, and number of performances.
• Artists receive:
  • Inclusion in festival marketing
  • Venue space (for lottery-selected participants)
  • Box office and ticketing support
  • Free admission to other festival shows with an Artist Button

Artists who do not secure a lottery spot cannot sell or transfer their slot to another artist.
