SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE will present Jonathan Larson's Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning rock opera, RENT, July 31, August 1, 6, 7 & 8 at 7:30pm and August 2 at 2:30pm at West Fargo Sheyenne High School. RENT is an inspirational musical about falling in love, finding your voice, and living for today with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences.

Based loosely on Puccini's opera, La Boheme, RENT follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side under the shadow of HIV/AIDS at the end of the 20th century. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves, and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical phenomenon.

Led by local arts educators and professionals committed to quality, individualized training, SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE is made possible through a collaboration with the West Fargo Public Schools. Its mission is to further develop the personal and artistic talents of emerging young artists as they gain a comprehensive understanding of theatre production and performance. RENT features a cast, crew, and orchestra of 40+ artists from around the Fargo-Moorhead area and marks the fifth season of SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE following previous productions of PIPPIN, A CHORUS LINE, CHICAGO, and last year's hit, SPAMALOT.

SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE is supported through the primary financial and in-kind sponsorships of Essentia Health, The Arts Partnership, and Flint Communications.

Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors and $10.00 for students and can be reserved beginning Monday, July 20th online at www.WestFargoTheatre.com. Phone reservations begin July 27th by calling 701-499-3237 Monday-Friday from 1-4pm.
