The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning musical, A CHORUS LINE, is warming up for one singular, sensational weekend of performances this August on the West Fargo High School stage. Presented by SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE, a collaboration between the West Fargo High School Theatre Department and the West Fargo Public Schools, A CHORUS LINE is set for four performances- August 2, 3 & 4 at 7:30pm and August 5 at 2:30pm.
On the bare stage of an empty theatre, casting for a new Broadway musical is almost complete as seventeen dancers don their legwarmers and perfect their combinations for a place in the chorus. The audition takes a personal turn as they are asked to reveal their individual ambitions and insecurities-ranging from funny to wrenching-as they struggle to impress a demanding director in the audition of their lifetime. A CHORUS LINE is the musical for everyone who's ever had a dream and put it all on the line.
Memorable musical numbers include: "I Can Do That", "At the Ballet", "Dance: Ten; Looks: Three", "The Music and the Mirror", "One (Singular Sensation)", and "What I Did for Love". A CHORUS LINE is a brilliantly complex fusion of dance, song and compelling drama. The show was instantly recognized as a classic upon its debut in 1975 and became one of the longest-running Broadway productions of all time.
The SUMMER ARTS INTENSIVE production of A CHORUS LINE features a cast, crew and orchestra of 40+ young artists from around the Fargo-Moorhead area under the direction of a team of accomplished local teachers and professionals.
Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $13.00 for seniors and $10.00 for students and can be reserved beginning Monday, July 23rd online at
www.westfargotheatre.com or by calling 701-499-1834 from 1-4pm. All performances take place at West Fargo High School Theatre-801 9th Street East, West Fargo, ND.
