Fargo Moorhead Community Theatre (FMCT) opens registration for summer education camps on Monday, January 14. Production camps featuring productions of Disney's Cinderella Kids and Godspell Jr., as well as week-long creative camps, make up an expanded slate of summer educational opportunities at FMCT for 2019.
Disney's Cinderella Kids will serve as the basis for elementary camps focused on teamwork, creativity, and theatre fundamentals. FMCT offers two experiences geared for lower and upper elementary-aged students.
Half-day camps are offered for students in grades K-2 with morning (9am-noon) or afternoon (1-4pm) options available. Half-day camps run Monday-Friday from June 5 through June 21 with performances of Cinderella Kids scheduled June 20 & 21. Tuition is $200.
Students in grades 3-5 will participate as part of a full-day camp from June 5 through June 28 running Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm. Performances for the Cinderella Kids full-day camp are scheduled for June 26 & 27. Tuition is $325.
Middle school students will learn advanced theatre skills including choreography, singing in harmony, and storytelling while applying their talents to Godspell Jr, a pop-rock musical with an eclectic score by Stephen Schwartz, the composer of Wicked. The performance will be presented as part of a full-day camp (Monday-Friday, 9a-4p) catered to students in grades 5-8. Tuition is $325. The middle school camp runs July 15 through August 9 with performances scheduled for August 7 & 8.
Summer at FMCT will also feature week-long creative camps in July and August with experiences inspired by the Harry Potter book series (running July 29-August 2); the popular video game, Minecraft (running August 5-9); and the musical theatre sensation, Hamilton (running July 8-12). Tuition for each camp is $150.
Enrollment for all summer education camps is done on a first-come-first-served basis with camps often meeting capacity quickly. Registration can be done online at www.fmct.org. For all other information, call 701.235.6778.
