The Fargo-Moorhead Community Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming show 13 by Jason Robert Brown on April 26th and 27th. The production will run July 29th through August 7th. The production is directed by Rebecca Meyer-Larson and choreographed by Ryan Domres.

Broadway Lights is a performance and training ground for bright young artists with exceptional musical theater talent, stage presence, and a discipline that make them standout among their peers. This program will immerse young artists in the creative process, while using the arts for advocacy and positive social change. Through the production of a contemporary theme-based musical, students will grow as artists as well as members of the larger community.

In a middle school in Appleton, Indiana thirteen 13 year olds leap from childhood into a whole new fantastic and frightening era: their teens. Like kids everywhere, they suddenly are trying to survive classes, navigate cliques and be in with the right crowd and "cool". In 100 song-filled minutes 13 is their provoking, engaging story, told with contagious energy and humor with all-teen performers and a teen band.

In conjunction with BROADWAY LIGHTS, the Children's Studio Theatre will offer a unique opportunity for young musicians in the area - The FMCT School of Rock, in conjunction with Marguerites Music. This two-week program will give area rock 'n roll students the opportunity to learn from and jam with some of the finest rock musicians in Fargo-Moorhead. A rock concert performance will showcase the School of Rock on the final day of class. Select performers from the School of Rock will then move on to play in the Rock Orchestra on Stage for the production of 13: a new musical.

Audition dates for 13: A NEW MUSICAL are April 26 at 4:00 and 7:30 and April 27 at 4:00 and 7:30. You must sign-up for an audition time slot prior to the auditions.

Once cast in this Regional Premiere Musical, participants will pay the tuition of $200 for this 4-week Monday through Thursday educational and performance experience. They will hold classes and rehearsals from 9 am to 4 pm Monday - Thursday starting July 5th. Not only will these young artists learn performance skills from an amazing directing team, they will also receive classroom instruction on how to cultivate their talents as artists. They will also work with local experts on the issues related to the production to become social advocates and peer leaders using the skills they develop in these training sessions.

Performances of 13 take place July 29th through 31st and August 4th through 7th.
