To audition for Musicals - please prepare a brief cut of 2 songs in a folk style (no longer than 1 min each). If you play an instrument, you may accompany yourself or submit a video demonstrating those skills. To audition for both plays and musicals - please prepare both a monologue and a brief cut of a song. An accompanist will ONLY be available on Monday 4/14. NOTE: All roles are cast, seeking understudies
Rosalind: CAST Female, 20s, BIPOC, mezzo and strong singer. Strong in the face of the charged environment and high stakes. Wisdom beyond her years, but prone to mercurial emotional life. Surprises us with her insight.
Orlando: CAST Male, 20s, bari-tenor and strong singer. Emotionally less mature than Rosalind. Classic young leading man. Physically strapping. Trying to figure out who he is. Facility with the language. Has more gifts than he knows.
Silvia: CAST 20s-30s, mezzo. Vocally flexible. The winning farm girl that's not quite as confident in herself.
Phoebe: CAST 20s-30s mezzo. Confident, secure, and of amazonian beauty. Open, kind. But tough and direct to the point of seeming cruel. Doubles as Frankie Flow and Hesperia, has some choreo experience.
Celia: CAST 20s-30s female, mezzo. Rosalind’s bestie, the sidekick. Upper class. Doesn’t have a lot of toughness or grit but sees people for who they are and wants to do the right thing. Devoted to her friend.
Oliver: CAST 30s-40s male, baritone. Orlando's older brother. Street smart and naturally menacing, he's able to keep Orlando down. Physically intimidating.
Duke Frederick: CAST 50's baritone, but doesn't need to be a strong vocalist. The leader of the gang - a rough and tumble character that's willing to get his hands dirty to hold on to power.
Duke Senior: CAST 50s, strong vocalist, tenor. A leader with a magnetic presence that is grounding and inspiring. Rosalind's father, Celia's uncle, and a real threat to Frederick's rule.
Andy: CAST 20s-30s tenor, also plays Bronco. The golden farmboy - open, loving, built like the Greek god Apollo.
Touchstone: CAST 30s, tenor, actor-musician. A true Jester; witty, fun, and commenting on everything. Still down for an adventure while being smarter than he lets on.
Jacques: CAST 30s male; actor-musician. Jaded and world weary bard who leads the show with his humor and insight.
Ensemble 1: CAST 60s-70s female; plays Bronco's Agent/Mama Corin/Mis Aimens/Martext, and others. Character actor with musical and text skill, able to sketch out a distinct character for each side in a few lines.
Ensemble 2: CAST 60s-70s male; Doubles as Adam/Papa Corin and others. Character actor with musical and text skill.
Ensemble 3: CAST 20s male; Doubles as William/Caveman and others. Physical actor. Dance background is a plus.
Actor-Musician: CAST any identity, plays multiple instruments and is a strong singer. Doubles as a minion, ardenite, and other roles.
