Preparation
Please prepare 2 songs that reflect that general Broadway style of the show(s). You may not get to sing both, or you may be asked to sing 32 bars, depending on the time restrictions. Monologue if nonsinging role.

Casting For All Roles except “Bert” in MARY POPPINS in all three shows.

MARY POPPINS
(NON TRADITIONAL CASTING WELCOME)

MARY POPPINS 30-40 years old. “Practically perfect in every way.” A Mezzo Soprano with strong belt and nice musical top.

GEORGE BANKS 40-45 years old. Father to Jane and Michael. A banker. A baritone.

WINNIFRED BANKS 30-40 years old. Wife to George, Mother to Jane and Michael. A former actress pressured into being something she isn’t by her husband. Medium Range Voice.

MRS. CORRY 40-50 owns a magical gingerbread shop. Mysterious, exotic and speaks with a Caribbean accent.

MRS. BRILL 50-60 years of age. Overworked housekeeper and cook for the Banks household. Sings but staying on pitch is more important than vocal quality .

Other character roles for older males and females, all should be good singers.

MAX BIALYSTOCK male 40-55 years. Con man, bombastic. Good actor. Baritone range.

LEO BLOOM Male, 35-45 years. An accountant, boring and mousy, a hesitant optimist. Bari-Tenor

ULLA Female 20 – 30 years. Tall, statuesque, Swedish seductress. Medium Belt voice.

ROGER DEBRIS 50-60 years old. New York’s most famous and flamboyant stage director. Bari-Tenor

FRANZ LIEBKIND 35 – 55 years. German loyalist playwright. A real character. Bari-Tenor.

Elton John and Tim Rice’s AIDA
(Multi cultural casting considered first)

AIDA 18-25 years A beautiful, brave Nubian Pricesss. Strong Belt.

AMNERIS 18-25 years. Daughter of the Pharaoh, betrothed to Captain Radames. Fashionista. Mezzo

MEREB 16 – 21 year old Nubian slave and friend to Aida. Baritone

NEHEBKA 20-35 year. A Nubian slave who is friendly with Aida. Mezzo

PHARAOH 55 – 65 years. The leader of Egypt and father to Amneris. Speaking Role.

RADAMES 20 – 28 years old. An Egyptian Captain and the son of Zoser. Strong, handsome. Dramatic Tenor.

ZOSER 45 -55 years. Chief Minister of Egypt and father of Radames. Baritone Belt, vocal belting required.
