Seeking:

TONY:
(18 & up to play late teens - 20s) Young man, charming and optimistic, but can be goaded into violence stemming from rage and grief. Strong actor with an excellent tenor voice. Must be able to solidly sing a high B flat.

MARIA:
(18 & up to play late teens) Must have a young girl quality, but with an uncommon grace and wisdom beyond her years. Innocent and beautiful. Excellent soprano to a high C. Strong actress.

ANITA:
(early 20s - early 30s) Sexy, vivacious, & full of life, but also empathetic when necessary. Must be an excellent dancer and an actor with great depth. Strong belt to C#.

BERNARDO:
(early 20s - early 30s) Latin, masculine; always on the verge of ‘boiling over.’ Must be a strong dancer and actor. Singing is a plus.

RIFF:
(18 & up to play late teens - 20s) All-American look, strong, a young man of principle. Strong bari-tenor and strong dancer.

CHINO:
(18 & us to play late teens) Shy, gentle, sweet-faced young boy, the intended husband of Maria; baritone. Featured acting role – some singing and dancing.

DOC:
(Male, 50s +) Excellent actor who can convey enormous warmth and strength; a survivor.

LT. SHRANK:
Male, (40 - 50s) The strongest voice of authority, seasoned, cynical and capable of unexpected volatility.

GLAD HAND:
Male, (30-50s) Comic actor. Must be able to make broad choices and possess excellent comic timing.

OFFICER KRUPKE:
Male, (30 - 50s) beat cop, sees nothing wrong in using the nightstick to make his point.

DIESEL:
(18 & us to play late teens) Lieutenant to Riff, big, slow, steady; baritone. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

BABY JOHN:
(18 & us to play teens) Youngest member of the Jets, awed at everything, even being a Jet, tries to act like a big man, but is vulnerable; baritone. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

A-RAB:
(18 & us to play late teens) Enjoys everything, takes nothing seriously, unaware, can be explosive; baritone. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

BIG DEAL:
(18 & us to play late teens) All-American male. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

ACTION:
(18 & us to play late teens) Most aggressive member of the Jets, a cat-like ball of fury; baritone. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

SNOWBOY:
(18 & us to play late teens) Bespectacled, self-styled expert; baritone. FEATURED SINGING/ DANCING/ ACTING ROLE

ANYBODYS:
Young girl (18 & up to play teens); tomboy who wants to be part of the Jets gang; strong actor, dancer and singer.
