This hit Off-Broadway musical comedy pays homage to the close-harmony guy groups of the 1950s. The Plaids, a quartet of high-school chums, dreamt of becoming stars but never got the chance. They return from the afterlife for one final shot at musical glory and perform hit songs including Three Coins in the Fountain,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Chain Gang,” “Heart and Soul,” “Rags to Riches,” and “Love is a Many-Splendored Thing.”

SEEKING:

  • FRANCIS: Plays 20s–30s. The leader and caretaker of the group. Confident. Asthmatic. He has a great deal of compassion for the music and the group. Romantic crooner and spiritual singer. Vocal Range: B5 to F3.
  • SPARKY: Plays 20s–30s. The clown of the group, who is shown to have a heart. Very sharp and loves singing his tailor-made solos. Wears a retainer and has a slight speech impediment. Energetic and clever. Vocal Range: G5 to F3.
  • JINX: Plays 20s–30s. The shy one. He lives his life terrified and doesn't always remember what song comes next. Sparky's step-brother, he occasionally gets a nosebleed when he sings above an A. Vocal Range: C6 to F3.
  • SMUDGE: Plays 20s–30s. The worrier. He worries about the props, the running order, and always assumes the audience won't like him. Has chronic nervous stomach and is oddly reluctant to perform. Wears glasses, which hides his good looks and sex appeal. Vocal Range: G5 to F3.

HONKY TONK ANGELS HOLIDAY HOEDOWN

1st Rehearsal: October 27, 2025, Opening: November 14, 2025, Closing: December 20, 2025
Hiatus week in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday: November 24-30, 2025
Written by Ted Swindley
Directed & Choreographed by Roy Alan
Music Direction by Christopher Leavy

Regional Premiere! This upbeat musical comedy continues the escapades of four beloved good ‘ole country gals, The Honky Tonk Angels, as they reunite for a show at the Hillbilly Heaven Club in Nashville. With the holiday spirit in full force and a little bit of charming family drama, this joyful musical is full of popular holiday classics, a Motown Christmas medley, country hits like Dolly Parton's “Coat of Many Colors,” fun comedy hits like “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” and much more!

SEEKING:

  • SUE ELLEN SMITH BARNEY FIFE: Plays 30s. A citified country girl. She is sexy, confident, and currently running her own nail salon and “beauty business” in Los Angeles.
  • CHARILEE CHESS: Plays 40s. A larger-than-life African American woman originally from Detroit. She works with Sue Ellen in her nail salon. Fun and very earthy, with a big gospel voice. Somewhat psychic. She is the widow of “Tubby Chess,” a legendary soul singer.
  • DARLENE PURVIS: Plays 20s. A young country singer, she is currently trying to “make it” in Nashville. Pretty and naïve — a LeAnn Rimes type. Originally from the hills of Appalachia, but grew up in the Mississippi Delta.
  • ANGELA BODINE: Plays 30s. A Texas housewife. Full of fun and identifies with Roseanne. Very pregnant with twins — due any time now.

FROM MY HOMETOWN

1st Rehearsal: January 5, 2026, Opening: January 23, 2026, Closing: February 21, 2026
By Lee Summers, Ty Stephens, Herbert Rawlings Jr.
Directed & Choreographed by TBD
Music Direction by TBD

Southeastern Regional Premiere! This critically acclaimed Off-Broadway musical is a “rags to riches” tale of three young men just off the bus from their hit-record producing hometowns – Philly, Memphis, and Detroit – as they meet at the world-famous Apollo Theatre. The musical is a tantalizing homage to the 3-man R&B groups of the 60s and 70s and features twenty-four Rhythm and Blues classic soul songs made popular by artists such as James Brown, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, and more!

SEEKING:

  • PHILLY: Plays 20s–30s. A nerdy singer-songwriter of color from Philadelphia, who pretends his crush on Patti Labelle sustains him, but actually his hometown sweetheart has broken his heart. Has a smooth soulful baritone and can riff if needed. Vocal Range top: B4.
  • DETROIT: Plays 20s–30s. A street-tough tenor from Chicago, by way of Detroit, of color who appears the most confident but he too has been tragically heartbroken and must fall the greatest to be redeemed. Vocal Range top: C4.
  • MEMPHIS: Plays 20s–30s. A country African American Bass-Baritone from Memphis, Tennessee whose charisma makes him the ladies’ man, but there’s a special lady back home from across the tracks that he never felt he was good enough for. Vocal Range bottom: Low C.

THE PIN UP GIRLS

1st Rehearsal: March 2, 2026, Opening: March 20, 2026, Closing: April 25, 2026
Hiatus week in observance of the Easter Holiday: March 30-April 6, 2026
Written by James Hindman
Musical Arrangements by Jeffrey Lodin
Directed & Choreographed by Roy Alan
Music Direction by Christopher Leavy

Regional Premiere! From The Andrews Sisters to hip-hop and Gershwin to Beyoncé, The Pin-Up Girls sing a cavalcade of hits inspired by letters home from our troops overseas! While singing at the local VFW hall, the ladies stumble upon a huge stash of letters that date back 100 years. Inspired by what they find - funny, sexy, romantic, and poignant - they put on a show that celebrates the men and women who fight to defend our country.

SEEKING:

  • LEANNE: Plays 20s–30s. Ringleader of the group. Wears her heart on her sleeve. Her grandfather ran this VFW hall for 26 years. Leanne manages her family’s printing company American Graphics, and is very good at using her passion and enthusiasm to persuade others. Vocal Range: Alto-Mezzo Soprano; (D belt-mix) bottom female voice on ensemble songs.
  • MEGAN: Plays 20s–30s. Outgoing. A bit of a flirt. Graduated from Beauty School and is now a “beauty consultant.” Vocal Range: Soprano; F3 to G5 (Eb Belt) middle voice on ensemble songs.
  • DANA: Plays 20s–30s. Teaches music at a Catholic middle school. Reserved with a childlike innocence. Extremely excited to be performing for a room full of people who are over twelve years old! Arranges all the music. Plays ukulele if possible. Vocal Range: Bright Soprano; G2 to G5 (G mix) top voice on ensemble songs.
  • JOEL: Plays 20s–30s. Brother to Leanne. Hipster with a smart-alecky attitude and a great sense of humor. Likes being the center of attention. After Sharon’s water breaks, Joel is thrust into the show with only one day of rehearsal! “What could possibly go wrong?!” Vocal Range: Bari-Tenor; D2 to G3 (G belt, plus falsetto) bottom male voice on ensemble songs.
