One 2-minute piece from a 20th Century play that reflects the American south; selections from MOCKINGBIRD are welcome.

Six performances in each of two weeks, including a total of four student morning matinees.

Breakdown

Seeking:

Atticus Finch:
Male, age 42-49, Caucasian; born and raised in southern Alabama, a single father of two, progressive for the 1930s, a great legal mind, a deeply yet quietly caring gentleman; tall, lean, poor, and dignified.

Mrs. Dubose:
Female, age 60-75, Caucasian; born and raised in southern Alabama, she is dying and it angers her.

Judge Taylor/Mr. Cunningham:
Male, age 55-65, Caucasian; two characters each born in southern Alabama, both with a hidden progressive conscience; the Judge is a veteran of the court with compassion; Cunningham, a poor farmer, may well be an uncommitted Klansman.

Rev. Sykes:
Male, age 55-70, African-American; leads the church for his community and has survived with dignity as he attempts to protect all those around him, especially children. Ability to sing spirituals of the era is a plus.
