SYNOPSIS: A reimagined production of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The timeless tale, in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz.
DOROTHY GALE: Female Identifying. (Mezzo/Mix) Young Kansas girl, earnest, expressive, and strong-willed, in search of something more. Very strong singer who moves well.
HUNK / SCARECROW: Any Gender. (Baritone) Plucky and clever in a pinch, even while lacking a brain. Has an honest quality. Singing and dance required – acrobatic skills a bonus. Strong baritone to F.
HICKORY / TIN MAN: Male Identifying. (Baritone/Tenor) Desperate for a heart. A kind-hearted romantic. Singing and dance required. Strong baritone / tenor to G.
ZEKE / COWARDLY LION: Any Gender. (Baritone) A mix of bravado and cowardice. Should move well. Cuddly with excellent comic timing. Vocal range: Strong baritone to F.
ALMIRA GULTCH / WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST: Any Gender. Character villain with an over-the-
top stage presence. Comedic, has a killer cackle.
PROFESSOR MARVEL / THE WIZARD OF OZ: Any Gender. Older authoritative figure with an eccentric flair. Basic conjuring or sleight of hand a bonus. Non-Singing.
GLINDA / AUNT EM: Female Identifying, (Soprano) Glinda is the Good Witch of the North. Benevolent and beloved. Strong singer.
UNCLE HENRY / EMERALD CITY GUARD: Male Identifying. Dorothy’s pleasant uncle. Guard - (Baritone) Comedic, big presence.
ENSEMBLE: FLYING MONKEYS / WINKIES / OZIANS / JITTERBUGS / CROWS / TREES: Any Gender. 18+. The chorus of the show, with featured speaking/vocal/dancing roles available.
