Breakdown
Seeking submissions for various roles in the following 2 shows:
THE LADIES FOURSOME
by Norm Foster
Contract dates: Jan 4 – Jan 31, 2016
Directed by two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey
This comedy is in the style of Sex and the City or Designing Women. All women need to have sharp comedic skills and timing.
Seeking:
Connie
50-55. An intelligent attractive local TV news anchor, she is a sassy, flirtatious, confident and promiscuous woman. ie. Samantha in Sex and the City. Her bravado covers her vulnerability.
Tate
42. She appears to be the “nice, perfect, friendly, pretty, wealthy one” with the perfect life, yet secretly, she wants something different. She can seem a bit naïve, innocent, thin-skinned, and wrapped a little too tightly by her need to follow the rules. ie. Charlotte in Sex and the City.
Dory
late 30/early 40’s. Attractive, confident. She is extremely competitive. She had dreamed of an exciting career as a singer but in reality is married with 6 kids, living in the middle of the Canadian wilderness and beginning to face that reality. She is new to the group, and trying to fit in.
=======
WHAT RHYMES WITH AMERICA
by Melissa Jane Gibson
Contract dates: Feb 22– Mar 20, 2016.
Directed by Christopher Schario
Looking for actors who understand broken hearts and comedic skills.
Seeking:
Hank
40s/early 50. Once a successful man with a happy family, he is now floundering, divorced, unemployed and estranged from his teenage daughter. Still in love with his wife, he is pathetically attempting to keep their relationship alive. Moonlighting as an extra at the MET to pay the bills, he decides to try dating in an attempt to feel better and move forward in his life.
Lydia
early 40’s. Attractive yet relationship challenged, she remains a socially awkward middle-aged virgin. Intelligent, tightly wrapped, with a somewhat sweet, obsessive and eccentric personality, she is also a short story writer recently fired from her job as a medical copywriter. Recovering from the recent death of her father, she is feeling vulnerable and looking to connect with someone.
