An aristocrat although has no income of his own. Bit dim, but charming & handsome. Becomes lovesick for Eliza writing countless letters & sitting outside her house for days on end. Tenor.

Henry’s mother; a very refined lady of the upper middle class. Elegant, the soul of propriety but not stuffy. Sees the Eliza experiment as idiocy. When her worries prove true, it is to her that all the characters turn.

Hungarian; former student of Henry. Also a rival phonetic expert, in his own mind if not in Henry’s and quite proud of his linguistic accomplishments. Pompous, scheming he becomes determined to discover who Eliza really is.
