BREAKDOWN
[CASEY]
male, 20s, White. Boyish, handsome and charming, he has star power and incredible magnetism. He’s unendingly charming – but he hasn’t yet figured out how to put all of his great skills to good work. He loves his wife completely, and loves being in front of an audience. He needs to be an incredible mover and singer, and have an adventurous, playful spirit. He’s incredibly comfortable in his body, and at varying levels of undress on stage.
[TRACY]
male, Mid 40s to 50s – Any race. Hilarious, magnetic, sage and pragmatically positive. She’s made her life in the Drag world and, although she and Rexy are down on their luck when we meet them, she is a wonderfully talented performer. Her aesthetic is classic, show girl, and irreverent. She’s the type of queen that everyone wants to be around.
[REXY/JASON]
male, 20s to 30s – Any race. Rexy is hard scrabble and doesn’t mince words. She is the definition of fierce. Despite her hard exterior, she continues to seek stability and an artistic home. Her aesthetic is clearly inspired by the Ball Scene. Jason is Casey’s childhood best friend. He is down to earth and wants the best for Casey and Jo. Despite first impressions, he’s also deeply thoughtful.
STORYLINE:
A feel-good, music-filled comedy
As an Elvis impersonator at Cleo’s bar, Casey had everything going for him, including a new sequin jumpsuit. But just like that he loses his gig, rent is overdue and his wife announces there’s a baby on the way. So when Elvis leaves the building and a drag show moves in, all hands are on deck for Casey’s transformation. He always knew he’d be a star – but not quite like this. With snappy zingers and show-stopping numbers, you won’t want to miss this wildly entertaining show.
