BREAKDOWN

SEEKING:

CLARK GRISWOLD: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE, SEEKING UNDERSTUDIES (mid 30s-early 50s, male identifying, any ethnicity) - The patriarch of the Griswold family, and a modern American father. Goofy, caring and often embarrassing to his family, he will stop at nothing to give them the New York vacation of their dreams … which is part of the problem. He hides his frustrations, always trying to keep his family (and himself) positive in the face of insanity. Comedic. Sings extremely well and can move.

ELLEN GRISWOLD: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE (mid 30s-early 50s, Female identifying, any ethnicity) - Warm and sharp, she has been married to Clark for almost 20 years… and is now starting to worry about what happens when the kids graduate, and the nest empties out. Comedic. Has a power belt and can move well.

AUDREY GRISWOLD: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE (18+ to play 17, female identifying, any ethnicity) - Ellen and Clark’s whip smart daughter who is in NYC to look at colleges, specifically PUNY (Philosopher’s University of New York). On the cusp of adulthood, she’s both excited and scared for what comes next. Comedic. Sings well and can handle pathos.

RUSTY GRISWOLD: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE (18+ to play 15, male identifying, any ethnicity) – Ellen and Clark’s sheltered teenage son. Longing to not be treated like a baby, he fights in vain for his independence. Eventually he accidentally gets his wish, going on a wild adventure through the Big Apple. Comedic with a strong voice.

COUSIN EDDIE: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE, SEEKING UNDERSTUDIES (30s-50s, male identifying, any ethnicity) - Ellen’s country bumpkin cousin-in-law who constantly hits up the Griswolds for money so he can use it for get-rich-quick schemes. Now residing in NYC, Clark has resisted calling him for help but eventually has no choice. Comedic. Can sing extremely well and move.

NAKED COMMANDO AKA TODD WATKINS: OFFER OUT FOR ROLE, SEEKING UNDERSTUDIES (mid 30s-early 50s, male identifying, any ethnicity) - Old classmate of Ellen, and now a popular Times Square entertainer. He had dedicated much of his life to one day winning Ellen’s affections, still tortured by a traumatic incident in high school. After a chance encounter in NYC, he hatches a plan to rewrite history and woo Ellen away from Clark. Comedic. Can sing very well.
