BREAKDOWN

WOMAN 1
Female, 18-26, Non-Caucasian. Actress must be street-smart, and funny. Woman 1 is masking a lot of pain. She is a survivor who can go to extreme places without going over the top. Performs:
Pomegranate & Avocado

Pomegranate: a short, sharp Beckettian two-hander, featuring two women’s heads on a shelf, killing time as they wait to be sold.

Avocado: a visceral, breathless, near-delirious internal monologue. A woman is being trafficked to – she hopes – safety in an airless avocado container. As she fights to breathe her thoughts pinball through time, reliving her chaotic, violent journey to her current hell.

WOMAN 2
Female, 30- Mid 40's, Non-Caucasian. Actress should be bold, funny, and passionate. Must be comfortable with her body as this role requires some nudity, but is open to discussion with the director and playwright. Must be great with an audience, skilful with language, willing to go the distance. Very interested in actresses of all body types. Performs:
Pomegranate & Coconut

Pomegranate: a short, sharp Beckettian two-hander, featuring two women’s heads on a shelf, killing time as they wait to be sold.

Coconut: the final piece of the three – a bold theatrical experiment. A woman welcomes us into the sanctuary of her bathroom and takes us through her nightly, sensual coconut oil ritual, as she reclaims her body and, in so doing, the source of her power.
