Note: The adult actors in A Christmas Story must be good working with children.

SEEKING:

THE NARRATOR (Ralphie as an adult) - Male 40s-60s, Any ethnicity. Warm, charismatic and engaging storyteller with a deadpan sense of humor. He keeps the story moving. The narrator also plays several small roles throughout the production including The Cowboy, The Tree Lot Owner and others.
RALPHIE PARKER - Male, age 9 (in the 5th grade). Any ethnicity. Bright, mischievous, outgoing and curious boy. He has a vivid imagination that comes to life in various scenes throughout the play. He is the star of his own story. All he wants is a Red Ryder Carbine Action BB Gun for Christmas.
MOTHER - Female, 35-45. Any ethnicity. Vibrant, warm and friendly, she is the glue that keeps the family together. She loves her husband and her children and will do what it takes to maintain harmony and order. She is unassuming but in charge.
MISS SHIELDS - Female, 30-50. Any ethnicity. An elementary school teacher (Ralphie’s teacher). Prim and proper, stern when necessary. Possesses a sense of humor and clearly cares about her job and her students.
OLD MAN is already cast.

MONIQUE JEFFRIES – POC, late 30s, former world champion, now owner of the gym.
JOHNNY PIERCE – Black, 60s, lifelong trainer, walks with a limp.
BEX PERLMAN – white/light-skinned, late 20s, new front-desk worker. Needs to be comfortable learning boxing fight choreography.
“WOOKIE” LEE – any race, teens, high school student and amateur boxer. Needs to be comfortable learning boxing fight choreography and executing strenuous physical activity such as: push-ups, jumping rope, sit-ups, etc.
MATT MICHAELS – 30s, white, investment banker and boxing groupie. Needs to be comfortable learning boxing fight choreography and executing strenuous physical activity such as: push-ups, jumping rope, sit-ups, etc.
ALOJZY “CHICKEN” KOWALCZYK – Polish, late 60s, ex-fighter and trainer.
