To be considered for the musicals, please prepare a brief cut of a musical theatre song and bring sheet music in your key. To be considered for the plays, please prepare a 1- minute contemporary comic monologue. Please bring a picture/resume stapled together.

Nick Bottom - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Late 30’s-Early 40’s; High baritone/tenor Vocal range: G4 to A2; A struggling writer who cannot stand Shakespeare. Nigel’s older brother. Comic leading man. Tap dancer.
Nigel Bottom - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-30’s to Mid-40’s; Tenor. Vocal range: A4 to Eb3; Nick’s sweet younger brother. A struggling writer who falls in love with Portia, a Puritan. Romantic lead.
Shakespeare - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Early-30’s to Early-40’s; Tenor, Vocal Range: Ab4 to Ab2; The Bard. Over the top Rock Star with a huge ego. Strong comic ability. Tap dancer.
Bea - Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Early-30’s to Early-40’s; Alto/Mezzo Vocal range top: D5 - D3; Nick’s wife. She loves Nick despite his past lack of success. She dresses up like a man to prove she can be an actor. Warm, comic leading lady.
Portia - Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Early-20’s to Early- 30’s; Alto/Mezzo Vocal range F#5 to G3A; A Puritan woman who loves poetry, theater, and ultimately Nigel. Comic, innocent soubrette.
Nostradamus - Any Gender; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-40’s to Mid-50’s; Vocal range: tenor/alto character voice Tenor 2 (C3-F4). A soothsayer and seer. Strong inventive comic abilities a plus.

A terrifying and physically dangerous villain.
Nancy - Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Early-20’s to Early-30’s; Vocal range Alto E3/B4. A graduate of Fagin's academy, and Bill's girlfriend. A warm, comic and deeply feeling young woman.
Mr. Bumble - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-40’s to Early-60’s; Vocal range Baritone C3/A4. A domineering and pompous minor church official of the workhouse. A self-righteous, greedy hypocrite.
Mrs. Corney - Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age: 40 to 55; Vocal range Soprano C4/E5; A sharp tongued, domineering widow - the Workhouse Mistress. Hypocritical, callous, and materialistic.

George Gibbs - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-20’s to Late-20’s; Sincere and naive, George is an idealist and romantic. Ages from 16 to 28 over the course of the play.
Dr. Frank Gibbs - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 50s; The town doctor, and father to George and Rebecca. Pragmatic and a pillar of the community. Loves his family.
Mrs. Julia Gibbs - Female Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 50s; Mother to George & Rebecca. Strong love for her family, particularly her son. Dreams of seeing Paris. A romantic, pragmatic woman.
Mrs. Myrtle Webb - Female Presenting, Any Ethnicity; Age Range: 50s; Emily and Wally’s mother. A stern, pragmatic woman.

Jim Fingal - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Mid-20’s to Mid-30’s; A Harvard graduate and intern at the magazine, eager to prove himself in his new job and absolutely dedicated to getting it all correct.
John D’Agata - Male Presenting; Any Ethnicity; Age Range: Late-30’s to Early-50’s. A renowned author and essayist. Talented, well-educated and with a strong belief in what he sees as truth through art, he can also be abrasive, sarcastic, and arrogant.
