2015-16 SEASON PLAYS, with roles available:
APPROPRIATE
By Branden Jacobs-Jenkins
Directed by TBA
Rehearsals: August 17 – September 11, 2015
Performances: September 12 – October 10, 2015
Antoinette “Toni” Lafayette
(female, white, late 40s/early 50s): She is the oldest sibling. A former school principal who is used to dealing with other people’s children and family conflicts, but not her own children or family conflicts. She is smart, strong, tough-spirited, and pretty grounded, but emotionally exhausted.
Rhys Thurston
(male, white, late teens). Rhys is Toni's son. He is just beginning to be aware of what people think about him. He is charismatic, but still awkward, shy, and has a slightly dark edge.
Beauregarde “Bo” Lafayette
(male, white, late 40s/early 50s): Bo is the middle child, who financially supported his late father for the past few years. He has grown into his success, as he is very smart and very driven, if not a bit bullheaded. He is not comfortable being around his siblings or in his childhood home.
Rachael Kramer-Lafayette
(female, white, 40s): Rachael is married to Bo. She is attractive, well-groomed, Yale-educated, an upper west-side wife. She is very conscious of being on the outside of this family.
Cassidy “Cassie” Kramer-Lafayette
(female, white, early to mid teens): Cassie is the oldest child of Bo and Rachael. In the process of developing into a very pretty young woman, she can be awkward, but is for the most part present, very perceptive, and smart.
Ainsley Kramer-Lafayette
(male, white, a child): He is the youngest child of Bo and Rachael.
François “Franz/Frank” Lafayette
(male, white, late 30s/early 40s): Frank is the youngest Lafayette sibling, who has been missing from the family for several years. An ageing hippie-type: a little rugged, a little ragged, with a sharp edge that lays over his vulnerability. He hopes to change and become more accountable.
River Rayner
(female, white, early 20s but looks younger): Frank’s fiancée. A yoga instructor and healer. She is very straight forward, outgoing, honest, and eager to impress people.

CASA VALENTINA
By Harvey Fierstein
Director: Scott Edmiston
Rehearsals: September 28 – October 23, 2015
Performances: October 24 – November 21, 2015
Rita
(female, 50s, ten years older than George): A resigned, determined, but worn earth mother. Her love of the girls barely covers her inner sadness.
Jonathon/Miranda
(male, early 30s): Masculine. Shy and bookish. Overly polite and cautious as a male. As a female, she is ebullient. (Appears both in and out of drag)
Albert/Bessie
(male, 50s): Willie Loman by day, Ethel Mertz at night. Chubby, quick witted, and friendly. Unaffectedly feminine. (Appears in drag only)
George/Valentina
(male, 40s): Married to Rita. An insurance salesman type as a man. Assured and charming. (Appears in and out of drag)
Charlotte/Isadore
(male, 50s): The ultimate wasp. A buttoned down strict disciplinarian. Not your favorite aunt. (Appears in drag only)
Michael/Gloria
(male, 30s): A very handsome and sexually charged chap who is accustomed to compliments whether dressed as a male of female. (Appears in drag only)
Theodore/Terry
(male, 70s): Sweet and gentle and slightly silly like a favorite old auntie. (Appears in drag only)
The Judge/Amy
(male, 70s): Large, distinguished, powerful, and imposing as a man, and a clunky sort of Tug-boat Annie woman. (Appears in and out of drag)
Eleanor
(female, 50s): The Judge’s daughter. Brittle, cold and damaged.
