BREAKDOWN

The Teacher: Male. A disembodied voice, with a strange, slightly accented—and/or affected—way of talking.

Joan: Female, late 40s. A therapist and sex educator. Promotes fun in her work, but mediates and does yoga to try and breathe through the anger bubbling up from within. Wears a lot of clothes and jewelry from India. In a relationship with Judy.

Judy: Female, maybe 50. A top editor in the art department at O magazine. Seriously likes to be in control of her image, her work, her life. Her soft spot is Joan, who she adores madly.

Alicia: Female, 30ish. From Southern California. The kind of person who makes a lot of noise even when “in silence,” because she likes being watched. A former child actor and beauty pageant star. Though she was cast in a few episodes of a minor sit-com, that was pretty much the highpoint. Appears in her underwear in one scene.

Ned: Male, 40s. Has had a run of bad luck worse than the worst country-western song. Appears in his underwear in one scene.

Rodney: Male, mid 30s. Ageless, fit, gorgeous. Highly successful yoga teacher. Highly successful chaser of women other than his wife. Wears a lot of man jewelry but makes it look good. Appears nude in one scene.

Jan: Male, 50-ish, from a small town in Finland. (Cast)

Performers of ALL races and ethnicities are STRONGLY encouraged to attend.
