Based on the Oscar-winning, DreamWorks animated film, Shrek the Musical is big summer fun for the whole family! Artistry invites you on a hero's journey with everyone's favorite lovable green ogre: Shrek the Musical is the fairy tale mashup for the kid in all of us! We'll take you on a side-splitting, feel-good ride about loving ourselves, accepting others, and the importance of friendship along the way.

PREPARATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Please perform an excerpt of a song of one minute or less. Please sing a song of your choosing that makes you feel like your best self. Songs from the show are welcome. If you do not have access to accompaniment or prefer to sing from the show, please go to https://www.dropbox.com/sh/gdek4lp0gqlp69v/AABgLySUVhaqLkiDF7JkGzX0a?dl=0 for tracks and sheet music for “Story of My Life.” There is a recording of the vocal part for you to listen to/rehearse with, as well as a backing track to use for your submission. Please do not submit an a cappella song. If you submitted for a previous show this season, you are welcome to re-use the same video.
Shrek the Musical will be directed by Angela Timberman (she/her), who has been a part of the Twin Cities theater community for the past 30 years as an actor and director. Her directing credits at Artistry include Legally Blonde, Music Man, and Talley’s Folly. Other directing credits include productions at Park Square Theatre, Lyric Arts, and Yellow Tree Theatre. As an actor, she has performed at the Guthrie Theater, Children’s Theatre Company, Jungle Theater, Park Square Theatre, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres, History Theatre, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Illusion Theatre, Playwright’s Center, Minnesota Fringe Festival, and Artistry’s productions of Little Women the Broadway Musical, and Noises Off. She is a proud member of the Jungle Theater’s Artistic Cohort. She lives in Minneapolis with her family.
