Equity Actors are welcome to audition at our season generals. Seattle local talent preferred. All ethnicities, genders, and abilities are strongly encouraged to audition.

PREPARATION

Please prepare two pieces of your choice not to exceed 3 minutes. An accompanist will be provided.

ROSETTA THARPE, black, plays various ages from 18-58, sings and plays the guitar.

ACTOR 1, black, versatile, charismatic, comfortable engaging the audience, sings. Roles include: Praise Brother 1 - Bo Willie, Blues Man (plays washboard), Decca Producer, Dizzy Gillespie, Willis Atkins (Rosetta’s father) plays the harmonica, Ensemble.

ACTOR 2, black, 30’ish, sings. Roles include: Praise brother 3, Stage Manager, Lucky Millinder, Dancer w/Blues Man, Ensemble.

ACTOR 3, black, 30’ish, large and imposing, charismatic
